UPDATE: Unfortunately Anna's not going to be able to speak after all.

Speaker Six! The amazing Anna Goss. Anna's talk will be 'pensions and the end of the world' and you are requested to please bring your National Insurance number with you. 

That's the most 'Interesting conference' thing I've ever written, "please bring your National Insurance number with you."

Speaker Five! The fantastic Sarah Drummond is going to talk about getting Don't Say Gay, the Section 28 film, made.

Interesting Jeffre

Speaker four is Jeffre Jackson. Long time blog readers will remember him from the olden days. He's a tremendously smart and interesting man and his talk will be entitled: "You seem nice, but I might have to kill you: Brief Observations on Misophonia."

Interesting Amy

Speaker three! The incredible Amy McNichol. Amy has not revealed what she's going to be talking about yet, but says she's keen to talk early. Always a good sign.

Speaker two for Interesting: Steve Watson. He's going to be talking about 'interesting magazines' because of course he is. Steve is the most interesting magazine person there is. If you don't know about Stack, you should.

Teach the world to sing

One of the things I encourage people to do in a presentation is teach people stuff.

Not just tell them things but teach them how to do things. Even little things.

This is a great example.

It's a fantastic concert anyway but just before the last song, rather than just encourage some joining in, Raye actually instructs the audience on how to sing, how precisely to deliver the vocal. It's really good.

 

Interesting Alex

The first of our speakers at Interesting 2023 will be the estimable Alex Mitchell. She writes one of the best newsletters and will be talking about her genius project collecting the complete short stories of F. Scott Fitzgerald.
