Occasionally people will ask how to get more readers to their blog. I have no idea. And if that's why you're doing it then only misery will follow. But clearly the real answer is 'get lucky'. Or write so much that sooner or later you'll catch someone's eye with a post. Above is the boost in traffic due to that 'how to be interesting' post which is clearly where I got lucky.
Reasons it may have got lucky:
1. Slightly interesting title
2. Annoyed as many people as it pleased (annoyance gets you links)
3. A list (people like lists)

There are huge advantages to seeing a city with a local. Samuel showed me this stately picasso which I was subsequently able to show off to two other New Yorkers - who'd never known it was there.

My phone has come back to life. It's all thanks to American Copywriter. (See). God bless the distributed village.
Thank you Mr American Copywriter. You bring dead things to life.

I got so wet walking around in the rain this morning that my phone's stopped working. So you can't call me on it. Sorry. Try email instead please.

This is pretty much the extent of my relationship with Nottingham Forest now. They're never on the radio outside the Midlands and very rarely on the TV, and I'm never motivated enough to sit by the internet on a Saturday afternoon. So most weekends I'm buzzed by a series of texts telling me how they're getting on. It's kind of compelling, but it's more like mobile ceefax than anything else. And it illustrates why sport is such important content - it's because sport is live, and unpredictable. Sport is spectacle. And even this crappy text-based connection to it is actually important to me.

We had a magnificent time in Pembrokeshire last week. Really lovely. But there was one day when we were trapped inside by overly vigorous precipitation and were forced to entertain ourselves. Which is when Arthur discovered Photo Booth. What a brilliant product. It entertained Arthur for hours, he almost filled my entire hard drive with pictures of himself. (I did my bit too.)
Then the whole family got involved.
I did my Pete Townshend.
My Orson Welles.
Gimli?
And this is from the flight over. This is what flying with Delta is like.

Saw this on the beach in Tenby. I don't know if the local estate agent/realtor (FBM) is responsible. But I hope so. Funny.
