Went to Birmingham last night to talk to the Midland's Creative Circle. Lovely bunch of people. Really good fun. Haven't been to Brum since the days we went to the Rum Runner and pretended to meet Duran Duran. I do like the new Bull Ring and this great place we did the talk at called The Custard Factory. Had a little debate with The Economist bloke about their ads. See next post.

Had a weekend in the peak district with some friends. Top fun. I don't want to be some dumb Grand Designs Escape To The Country pultroon, but it's a shame that more kids don't get to climb on hay...

...and just play around in fields. Alfie's four and his dad reckoned he'd never been in a field before.
And you can't beat a bike light for play value.
We went to Regent's Park yesterday, covered in large Croatian sculptures, which, of course, all the kids were climbing on. On the way out we noticed a very small sign saying, 'no leaning or climbing on sculptures'. I don't think that's going to do it. They're fantastic for climbing on. Maybe the sign's just up for insurance purposes.
Markeaton Park and then back to London. Work tomorrow. It's all over. What a fantastic time I've had. I'm very lucky. And we seem to have worn Arthur out too.
Dovedale is a great place. At 6am in November it's quiet, calm and lovely. Bits of it are almost isolted. On an August weekend it's like Blackpool. People turn up with rubber boats. This is Arthur falling off a stepping stone. He was very brave about it. Went to see Rocester draw 1-1 with Stourbridge.

Splendid day cycling along the Tissington Trail, listening to the Soundtrack installation in Asbourne tunnel and playing in the little stream in Tissington.
Back to Starbucks in Derby for more email etc.

Mucked about up North.Did some music, did some writing. Trying not to think about going back to work. Visited a fantastic transport cafe in Sudbury called PJs. Then went to watch
