I tagged this article for my file on 'pockets'. (I have a little obsession.) It made me think - I must have blogged about pockets, I'm always thinking about them.
But all I could find was this Wired column from about 4 years ago, which seems a long, long time ago now.
It doesn't appear to be strictly relevant.
These are some bits.

This, from Uncrate, makes me feel old.
And makes me realise how Sony threw it all away.
Or maybe it's inevitable and Apple's they've-had-a-huge-influence-all-the-same-day will come too.

George Bernard Shaw said this:
"All professions are conspiracies against the laity."
It's discussed in a surprisingly chatty un-wikipedia-feeling wikipedia entry.
I always think about this when people discuss professionalisation.
This and Adam Smith:
"People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices."

I'm a big fan of Ken Garland, and especially his game Connect. So this was a lovely little find on ebay. It says something about the quality of a game, and of how it looks, when the original printing sheet is reproduced as a limited edition.
