what to do

What to do:

Find out where you are
Take a small step towards your goal
Adjust your understanding based on what you learned
Repeat

How to do it:

When faced with two of more alternatives that deliver roughly the same value, take the path that makes future change easier.

Things You Can Instagram

sensing spaces

Went to see Sensing Spaces at the weekend, despite being warned against it. I didn't come out reflecting on the remarkable humility of architects or thinking they could do with being a bit more eliptical. But I went with funny friends so it was OK. We did a lot of SnapChatting.

It did make me think - some museum or gallery should just do a show called Things You Can Instagram. That's all anyone wants.

Science Story Magic

As longtimeblogreaders will know I'm obsessed with voice / sound as an output / display for computers. I'm also interested in the strange texts you get when people and software collide. So I wondered what it might sound like when - as will inevitably happen - the robots start reading the news.

bridges

"I think art is overrated, and bridges are underrated. In fact, I don’t understand why bridges aren’t art. It seems to me they’re penalized for having a use."
