This is magnificent. Millions of people stare at the tube map everyday; and then one day, one bloke (Paul Middlewick to be precise) notices that there's an elephant hidden in it. And now there are a load more. And you can buy t-shirts and stuff.

I saw this posted on a wall this morning. It looks so fresh and new. I presume the MU are still saying this, but are they still issuing these iconic stickers? I can't find any evidence on their website. And there's not a lot of discussion of what exactly constitutes live music. I presume a DJ isn't a musician in their world, but is she if she does enough 'turntablism'? and what about karaoke? is that live music?

Don't you suspect this is true in London too? It seems that, in New York, more than 2,500 of the 3,250 pedestrian crossing pushbuttons have been disconnected by the city. The crossing lights are computer controlled, they just have a placebo effect. It's a good effect though. I'm glad the buttons are there. Read more at the New York Times, (requires you to login)

Finding Nemo's just come out in the UK. My son is addicted to it. We have to watch it once a day. Which is OK because it's a terrific film, certainly better than the ghastly Thomas and the Magic Railroad. But even Pixar would have trouble making the fish on this page look cute. Astonishingly ugly stuff, probably more ugly because they're out of the water. I guess people don't look so good once they've drowned.
