It's time for a full hour of audio nonsense from me. There's a bunch of music in there, some radio, and an interview with the esteemed Richard Reynolds. He talks about what it's like to be a planner who does stuff, especially Guerrilla Gardening. And there are interesting little links/connections between each song and the next - if you can spot all the links there's a mysterious but exciting special prize for you. Post your guesses in the comments.
Audioblog/Hipcast seem to have given up for the last few days, files just sit there transcoding forever, so I'm afraid you can't stream the audio from this page, you'll have to click and download. Or something. It's about 60MB.
Fat Freddy's Drop shouldn't be confused with Fab Five Freddy who was mentioned together with fellow hiphop pioneer Grandmaster Flash in Blondie's song Rapture. White Lines and Whitesnake, that's quite obvious. [then a missing link] Barenaked Ladies: Brian Wilson (as in the lead singer of) The Beach Boys.
Has anyone got a clue about the link between Fat Freddy's Drop and the picnic song?

a very good start Mr/Mrs/Miss/Ms God. I'm impressed. But not quite. Can anyone help him/her?

Nobody? OK, well..
A picnic for TWO and Fab FIVE Freddy
FLASHback and Grandmaster FLASH.
BANK! And I'd like to buy a vowel.
Still struggling with Whitesnake and the Barenaked Ladies, though.

How about if I told you that the track between The Snake and The Ladies is The Boards Of Canada? Could some research on iTunes point you at the answer? I think if I just told you the track name it'd be too easy.

The Barenaked Ladies are from Canada. That's an easy one.
'Here I go again' rhymes with 'Into the Rainbow Vein'??

White is a combination of all colours (including deep purple) in a spectrum. So is a rainbow.

Oops. I think a comment of mine went missing due to typepad collapse. And I now suspect you're being deliberately dense to poke fun at me. But just incase you're not, I should point out that you've used all the words you need already. Whitesnake. Deep Purple. Rainbow.

I'm afraid the density was rather a result of my ignorance. I had never heard of the band Rainbow. So here we go:
Whitesnake and Rainbow both originated from former members of Deep Purple.

you've missed a lot of classic lyrics if you've never heard Rainbow:
"Don't know about your brain, but you look alright"
Now you just need the picnic song link.

Had some trouble finding the performing artist, but Amazon helped me out. Let's sum it up:
Fred Waring - Fab Five Freddy
Fab Five Freddy - Fat Freddy's Drop
Flashback - Grandmaster Flash
White Lines - Whitesnake
Whitesnake - Deep Purple - Rainbow
(Boards of) Canada - Barenaked Ladies
Brian Wilson - Beach Boys
