To Scritti Politti with Ben. Very good. Intimate and interesting. And it's nice to be at the younger end of a demographic for a change. He/they encored with Wood Beez which was very spirited and evocative but reminded you how a lot of it being the best record ever was probably down to Arif Mardin.
And it reminded me how much I completely love music, although I never seem to listen to it any more.
I must think about that.
There's such a plethora of great new music out at the moment that often it seems it's just a case of people fearing getting lost in its sea and so stick to the safe shores of tried and tested old favourites.
It's interesting that Scritti Politti seem to be the first band to make an appearance on your blog, bar of course a group of 'talented' musicians covering the Ramones.
Music undoubtedly plays a hugely influential role in broadcast advertising; shaping the personality of a brand and directly affecting its audience. Many of the classis Levi's ads were defined by the music they used and there was a obvious correlation to the top of the charts. The use of Jose Gonzalez in the Sony Bravia ad is a recent case in point.
Would be good to hear your thoughts on the role of simple humble music in advertising.

Oh, and interesting to see Ludacris' 'What's your fantasy?' up there on your Last FM. Personally, prefer 'Cadillac Grills'. Hmmmm
