Well maybe not. But this is a damn good programme. Radio 4 at its finest. A touching, funny, enlightening programme; all sorts of men talking about what the advice their fathers gave them. And, by way of illustration, this is my Dad, atop a Monroe.

Ah very good programme indeed - I have to say that one of the most inspiring things about my own dad when I was growing up was a photo of him all bearded standing atop Killimanjaro - there's just something about beards and mountains that screams 'Dad'

Your Dad looks like my kind of man - good wooden ice axe, and a solid beard.

I heard the show. Lovely. Something about the dad thing. We're not used to reflecting on our relationships with them. Mine told me he loved me recently. I practically fell off the sofa (hard, falling off a sofa). He must be getting old I suppose...

Just listened to the show. Thank you so much for highlighting it. Made me even more determined to work harder at being a better one.

Best bit of advice my dad has ever given me (so far):
"If you're not doing it for fun or profit. Why are you doing it?"
Great question. To be asked often. About anything.
