Marcus wins the vote. Almost 600 people voted and it's this close:
I just want to say I'm proud to have taken part in a great match and I'm just sorry to have let all those great bacon fans down. Best fans in the world. Best wishes to Marcus as the competition continues and I'm looking forward to coming back next year with more focus and determination.
it was a gruelling battle. I salute you.

Is that it? Is that all you are going to say about your loss? I bet you'd be a damn more passionate if you'd won. Hell, you almost sound like an Aussie when they lose some sporting event [which is sadly rather rare]
Apart from the fact you're British [so you should be used to the 'losing effect bar 2 exceptional World Wars and World Cups] you're also a fellow Forest fan ... so defeat being snatched out of the jaws of victory would be a common feeling.
You did good ... but unfortunately you didn't quite bring home the bacon.
Better luck next time ... we still think you're a top bloke, your love of bacon is possibly your only flaw!
SAUSAGE ... SAUSAGE ... SAUSAGE

You woz robbed. That's twice in one day. Bummer.

So the sausage eaters show their true colours. After the generous acceptance of defeat by bacon, sausage can't win gracefully.
The Chelsea of meat.

You wouldn't happen do be from Leeds would you Northern Planner?
Posted by: Macus Bown | January 24, 2007 at 03:39 PM
Better than being the Leeds of Meat ... once successful and popular and now washed up and disappointing.
Anyway, shouldn't you be a pork pie lover?

Leeds fans know how to lose. When you're used to defeat, you become gracious winners. Something the wurst meat fans in the world could learn from.
By the way Pork Pies are from Mowbray - and delicious.

I'm from Nottingham - I know where Pork Pies come from [Pork Farms are the Gods Of The Pink Meat] ... it was just a test which you passed ... which is more than can be said for your bacon lovin'.

I suppose you lot will be ganging up on duck next......
Posted by: Northern Planner | January 24, 2007 at 04:10 PM
No. Voted duck me. Be daft not too.
Posted by: Macus Bown | January 24, 2007 at 04:17 PM
You can have duck sausages so you're probably going to be OK. And underneath it all, you're alright - even if you do like The Smiths.

Queen fans cannot be taken seriously
Posted by: Northern Planner | January 24, 2007 at 04:24 PM
..but you're okay apart from that
Posted by: Northern Planner | January 24, 2007 at 04:28 PM
You're right ... but in my defence, I only like EARLY Queen - anything after 1981 was pretty rubbish.

Ok, now we are done in the sand pit can we all get back to work children. Jesus, I can't believe you 'try' and support families and use this as a bastion of advertising planning
Posted by: Ambitious | January 24, 2007 at 04:41 PM
Forest fans? So you have Krissy 'I'm fat and round but good enough to play in the Prem' Commons.
Yes, I'm a Stoke fan, for my sins.
Oh, and well done to Sausage - pleased to know my vote helped it win.
Posted by: Will | January 24, 2007 at 04:43 PM
i almost suspect foul play.
Posted by: rabsteen | January 24, 2007 at 06:20 PM
Stoke? Dear oh dear oh dear.
Mind you I'm a Forest season ticket and live in Asia so how sad am I? [Don't answer that!]
And 'Ambitious' ... stop taking yourself and life so bloody seriously.
Yes we're behaving like kids - maybe if more of us did it more often, the World would be a happier place. [But I wouldn't put money on that!]

What's all this about having your bike nicked?
If it isn't some desperate attempt at sympathy, then I want to say 'bad luck' and I hope Mr and Mrs Policeman find whoever took it.
Posted by: Rob @ Cynic | January 24, 2007 at 07:21 PM
That's insane. Sausages are great, but there's just no way that they're better than bacon. A sad day for two-dimensional pork products.
Posted by: rodcorp | January 24, 2007 at 07:50 PM
2-D pork (great phrase!) is still alive in the form of American bacon, which trounced the other cylindrical meat (hot dogs).
Sausage is up against Lamb next, which eked out an upset victory over Hamburgers.
All very important stuff, of course.

Absolute travesty.
