I think that, for me, coffee morning has run its course. I'm working too often on a Friday to organise it regularly, and now it's turned into a thing I don't have the energy to do it properly like the likemind folks. This Friday was going to be my last one, but as if to prove my point, I can't now make it. But I would love it if someone else would take on the coffee morning baton. All you have to do is say you're going to be somewhere and invite others to come. All that's required is purposeless chat. Though, you, of course, might have different rules. Just to give those that want to come lots of notice, let's do coffee morning on the 16th. That's a week on Friday. Normal plan. 11am. The Breakfast Club, D'Arblay Street. Anyone can come.

Excellent coffee morning this morning. About half usual suspects and half new faces. Everyone seemed to have colds.

coffee on friday

As you'll see from the doodah on the left I'm thinking we could have a coffee morning on Friday. People have been emailing me to ask if they can come. The answer is Yes. The only rules are: anyone can come, no networking, just chat and drink beverages. Some previous coffee mornings are documented here. Just turn up at The Breakfast Club at 11 on Friday and say hello to whoever looks like a friendly crowd.

coffee and singapore

I seem to have ended up with work to do on the next few Fridays, so I can't do a London coffee morning until the middle of October. Does anyone else fancy hosting one?

Also, my esteemed OIA colleague Emily is going to be in Singapore on Wednesday (the 26th) and wonders if anyone would like to meet for communal coffee/drinks there and then. Details here.

We're going to be in Oregon for a few weeks. Wondered if anyone fancied a coffee in Portland this Friday morning. Probably 11am. Not sure where. Any suggestions?

UPDATE: Well it seems to work for the likemind crew, so let's say Stumptown at 128 SW 3rd. I like it there. But let's make it a more civilised 11am. Friday.

I'm afraid I can't be at coffee on Friday morning. Got to do actual work. But if anyone else wants to host, or people just want to turn up then obviously that'd be lovely.

conference and coffee news

We went to have a proper look at the Conway Hall this morning. Some students from St Martin's were in there and had the place looking rather village hall-y, which is exactly the vibe I think we'll be aiming for.

 

I particularly like the bunting. Does anyone have any bunting?

We also decided that we could make room for another 100 people, so we'll be putting more tickets on sale. BUT NOT YET. To try and make it fairer we'll let that news sink in for a bit and post an announcement about the extra tickets on Monday. That OK?

In other conference news Lloyd has been wondering whether we'd print the Interesting2007 logo on an adult romper suit and the answer is a resounding yes. So we're all looking forward to seeing Lloyd on the day. So far The Design Conspiracy has only got one t-shirt for printing (so they're going to make it rather deluxe), don't forget to send your own if you want one.

We were also wondering if some of you know yourselves well enough to know that you won't be arsed to send a t-shirt in and would like us to order some and make them for you. Comment below if you'd be willing to pay for a specially manufactured Interesting2007 t-shirt. Not sure how much yet.
